Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 13, 2026
When you use Joblio, you trust us with your personal data. This notice describes the personal data we collect, how it is used and shared, and your choices and rights. Together with our Terms of Use, it explains how we (Joblio Inc.) collect and handle your information across our website, mobile apps, and other services. It applies to candidates who register with us for roles we manage for employers, prospective candidates, business contacts at our clients, and users of our websites (collectively “you”).
1.Who we are and how to contact us
Joblio Inc. is a company registered in the United States and is the Data Controller of the personal data collected from you by us. Our registered office is 1 Seneca St., Suite 29-M49, Buffalo, NY 14203. You can reach our Data Protection Officer by post at that address or by email at: dpo@joblio.co.
2.What personal data we collect and why
Everyone who uses our services will have some information about them collected, stored, and processed, but we do not collect more than we need for the purposes described here.
Candidates. When you register to seek employment opportunities through our platform, we collect identification and contact information (name, phone, email, address); employment history, qualifications, and skills (e.g. your CV/resume); job preferences and salary expectations; and details of current benefits and availability. Where permitted by law, we may also process special-category or sensitive data — such as health information (to support reasonable workplace accommodations), diversity data (for equal-opportunity monitoring), and information on unspent criminal convictions where required by law or a potential employer. We may also receive data from third parties such as referees, previous employers, educational institutions, background-check providers, and public professional platforms (e.g. LinkedIn).
Business clients. If you represent a current or prospective client, we collect your name, job title, professional contact details, the substance of your communications with us, and feedback you provide about our services or candidates.
Website and app users. When you use our digital services, we collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information; information about how you interact with our websites or apps; and information you submit through contact forms. We use this information where you have given consent, where it is necessary to deliver a service you requested, where it is necessary to exercise or comply with legal rights or obligations, or for the normal business purposes described in this notice.
3.How long we keep your data
We only keep your data for as long as we need it or are required to for legal reasons. We then either delete it or anonymise it so it no longer identifies you. Retention periods differ depending on the purpose, and you can ask us to delete your personal data at any time, subject to the legal conditions described below.
4.When your information is shared
We share your information only where you ask us to, where it is a necessary part of providing the services, or where we need to for legal reasons. Employers you apply to via Joblio will collect your data in line with their own policies. Service providers who help us deliver our services may also process your data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.
5.Where your data is processed and how we keep it secure
Processing location. To be transparent about how the current platform operates: your personal data is processed and stored in the United States on our cloud infrastructure provider (Supabase) until our planned data-residency migration. Where your data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards and require our suppliers to meet security standards consistent with ours.
Security. We have put in place measures to protect your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorisation, and we limit access to those employees and partners who have a business need to know. We have procedures to deal with any suspected personal-data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator where we are legally required to.
6.Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to deliver, optimise, personalise, and analyse our services. We require your consent for all non-essential cookies, and non-essential cookies stay off until you accept them via our consent banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing the consent choice stored on your device.
7.AI, automated decision-making, and profiling
We use Artificial Intelligence in a responsible and limited way to support our recruitment services. To be clear — we do not use AI for automated decision-making. Final decisions about candidate selection are always made by qualified human recruiters. AI is used only to assist with content creation, simplify processes, and help applicants receive the most relevant job recommendations.
8.Your choices and rights
If you have a Joblio account, you can access, edit, download, or delete the key personal data associated with your profile at any time from your profile, where you can also manage your marketing preferences. Depending on where you live, you also have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection — and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8A.Supplemental notice for California (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You may exercise these rights as described below, and you will not be discriminated against for doing so. An authorised agent registered with the California Secretary of State may submit a request on your behalf.
9.How to exercise your data-privacy rights
To exercise any of your rights, submit a verifiable request to: dpo@joblio.co. Your request should give us enough information to reasonably identify and verify you (for example, full name, any usernames, phone number, email address, and your relationship to Joblio) and a detailed description of the personal data and the specific right you want to exercise. We will confirm receipt within 10 days and respond to properly submitted, verifiable requests within 30 days of receipt. There may be legal conditions or limitations on your rights; where we cannot fully comply, our response will explain why.
10.Complaints
If you are unable to satisfactorily exercise your rights through your profile, contact our Data Protection Officer by post at Joblio Inc., 1 Seneca St., Suite 29-M49, Buffalo, NY 14203, or by email at: dpo@joblio.co. If you are not happy with how we collect and use your data, you also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority of the country in which you are based.
